Colleen Anthony

Owner & Creative Director

Michigan-wedding-planner

Growing up, everyone in my family called me Colleen-Bean, which eventually turned into just Bean. My love for weddings started when I was ten years old and my aunt (and godmother) asked me to be a junior bridesmaid in her wedding. On the day of the wedding, she gave me a silver bean necklace which can still be found around my neck today. I am an organized Bean with a love for creativity and event design - hence, Silver Bean Events!

While attending Michigan State University (Go Green!) where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Marketing, I started working with a florist who focused primarily on private events and weddings. I immediately discovered that creating a cohesive event design with beautiful florals was my passion. I have been working in the wedding industry for over five years having been involved in hundreds of weddings and special events.

When I am not creating checklists, design boards, or bouquets, I love to swim, attend Michigan State Football games, and indulge in any tasty peanut butter chocolate dessert.

I am a hopeless romantic who believes that love can conquer anything. I cherish the opportunity to create a beautiful celebration with lasting memories for you and your loved ones. I cannot wait to hear your love story!

Catie Hatfield

Event Coordinator

Catie with a "C" is how she gets it to stick with most people. The history behind the couple, the meaning behind an inside joke, the planning behind the event; these are all things that matter to this coordinator. You can expect an actual connection when working with Catie, whether her services include assistance ahead of time or just on event day.

Her education at Grand Valley State University was not short of edifying experiences with multiple event venues throughout West Michigan. Five years, four internships and one trip abroad later, Catie is ready to put her collegiate expertise to work for you!

If it’s wedding day and you need something done, look for Catie: she’ll be the one at ease, at the side of the room, motioning *thumbs up* that it has been taken care of already.

Maria Sexton

Event Coordinator

Maria is a recent 2019 bride and a long time lover of everything weddings! Her passion started when she was a little girl with watching every wedding movie and show possible. She had her entire wedding planned out since she was a little girl. Maria loves a classic and elegant wedding with lots of flowers and pops of unique details that truly represent the couple.

While Maria was planning her own wedding, she truly enjoyed every aspect - envisioning the small details, reading blogs and articles, and coordinating a wedding that was truly unique to her and her husband.   She understands the importance of having everything organized and thought out for the couple to truly enjoy their wedding day. Maria learned so much from her own wedding that she is ready to help other brides plan their special day!
